Another Reason I'm Not A Fan Of Small Critters

...when they die, they don't have the courtesy of going outside to die  therefore they stink up my house. The dead animal smelling up the joint this past spring was found. I'll be sure to tell Simon and Theadore that it was a quick death though I'm sure they'll see right through my thinly veiled lies. Perhaps they'll chew off my nose in the middle of the night. Hopefully they'll wait until I'm congested so as to get extra fiber. Does snot have fiber?* I don't know why no one else in this house can smell the dead animal because the odor is all up in my nasal cavity and really, ya'll, it's not gardenias and vanilla. The chipmunk was found (well, I imagine what was left of him was found - ish)  in the heating duct going to the main living room. This one is hitting the upstairs. Where the baby sleeps. Where I sleep. Where the 14 year old 5 year old sleeps when she feels the compulsive need to steal 2/3 of a bed and 87% of my blankets. Heat rises ...

High Expectations? I Hope Not

I really have nothing today people. And? I'm too tired to link any of these things below. Dom DeLuise died. That's pretty sad. Adam Lambert makes me want to throw up. Blech. Go Kris! Ty Murray looks gooood on Dancing With The Stars. My fingernails will never look this good again. Le sigh. That stack of magazines that I haven't read yet? That sits upstairs on the bookcase? That I was supposed to take to the hospital? Still sitting there.  My kids are still outside playing. It's dark. Grampa is very interesting when he's putting in a new rope swing apparently. My voice is coming and going. Frankly, I wish it would just go for a couple days. I'm sure others in the house wish that too. Ha! Happy Cinco de Mayo senors and senoritas.

You'll Have To Excuse Me But....

Shitty shit shit shit mother truckin' frickety shit damn frick n frack We had a bio scan on the baby today and she scored 6 out 8. That means of the four things they were looking for (blood flow in two areas, breathing movements and regular movements), she did all but regular movements. Maybe she was being lazy, I don't know. Her score though meant I couldn't go home and come back next week for the next scan. I had to go to the back room (I hate that room, no good comes out of that room) and be put on monitors. She still wasn't moving after 15 minutes so they "buzzed" her. They put this wand thing up to my belly and well, buzzed it. She jolted in there and my belly moved about two inches. Prolly scared the merconium out of her. They don't count that as a movement though because it was involuntary. They fed me some orange juice and crackers to get her going. Apparently the breakfast and OJ I had this morning didn't do the trick that it normally does. Af...

Not A Laughing Type Day Over Here

I'll tell ya'll about the MRI and the results tomorrow. We found out this morning that our beloved Papa Merlin (my MIL's father) passed away this morning. He was 86 years old and God bless him, one of the sweetest men I've ever met. When I married into this family, I was so blessed to be welcomed in. Papa was always so much fun to hang out with and talk to about anything really. To hear him sing with the kids on his lap? It would bring tears to your eyes. I'm saddened that the new baby will never have met her Great Papa. Oh but the stories we'll have for her. She'll know who her Papa Merlin was. The boy was very sad to hear the news when he got home from school. He ran from me, went into the kitchen and sat at the counter crying. I couldn't move, I was crying so hard, for him, my mother in law, for us. He recovered and launched into a matter of fact conversation about death and the funeral. The girl is sad but being only 4, she goes back and forth betwee...

Some Good News Makes The Bad News Less Painful

First the good news: Willow and Wesley had a baby . Interesting name, I kinda like it. I hope mama doesn't resent having her on her birthday. I was born the day before my mother's birthday and let's just say, birthdays were not fun for me. That's if I can recall even celebrating one before I moved out. Hmm, good times. And the bad: No more karaoke from Lorne . I want to go out and buy the rest of Angel on DVD just to see the episodes with him in them for the husband to complete his set. That character really made the show so much fun. Mr. Hallett will be missed by those of us who admired him and his work so much.
