A Trifecta Of Happy

Oh people. Where do I even begin with this day? It was a good day. Great day indeed! Let's just cut to the chase shall we? Muey Importante News Numero Uno : My sister in law Fluffy and her husband, Mr. Big, welcomed my newest niece into the world this afternoon. She looks just like her big sister, The Monkey. So damn cute and I can't wait to hold her. The Monkey is staying with us whilst her sister is adjusting to the lovely Minnesota winter weather. Congrats to Fluffy, Mr. Big and The Monkey!! Hey ya know what? Congrats to the newest girlie girl in our lives too! We're a crazy, loud family (well your cousins are, sorry) but we're family and we can't imagine us without you ! Welcome baby, welcome home. Muey Importante News Numero Dos : Mandyland done up and got herself engaged this morning! She's gonna marry herself a cowboy! Yeehaw people! He showed the ring to just about everyone but me. Wonder why. Perhaps he thinks I have a mouth on me and would let it ...

Here's Some More For Ya

We laughed. A lot. We got all prettied up just for the fun of it. We tried pears for the first time. Auntie Fluffy was lucky she walked away with all her fingers. We went to a preseason game against my 'Boys. I don't know who won because I had entirely too much fun with my coworkers who came with me. Damn did my belly hurt the next day from all the laughing. And somehow, someway, I gained a 1st grader. What. the. hell? I don't know how it happened either. But he's a cute one yes?

Perpetual Motion People

I have experienced it today. I don't think there was a time (other than when I was driving) today that my body wasn't moving. Oh let's not get crazy and think that I was exercising because that? That would get you committed to the loony bin. No, I gave up exercising last year and have been toying with the idea of starting up again but gosh, doesn't that mean I have to exert...what's that called? Energy? Yeah, that stuff? Doesn't exist in my body. I've looked. My kids have Puh-lenty of it though. If only..... The Littlest Little had an ultrasound today and of course, we were misinformed on whether the doctor would talk to me afterwards or not. I was told he would be talking to me, the technician informed me (albeit nicely) that I would get a phone call on Monday . Awesome :::insert sarcasm::: The baby did well, was ogled by the nurses and declared so cute and oh my! Look at those chubby cheeks. Yes, thank you, I bake good looking babies. They get that cutenes...

Nice To Meet You

Hi. I just got here last week. They call me the Littlest Little. I'm glad to be here and I'm sure I'll be seein' ya around. This my mama. She's always telling me that she loves me and is so blessed to have me in her life. Sometimes she cries. Wait, that's all the time. Someone should get her a tissue or two or a box. This is my daddy. See my pinky here? He's wrapped around it already. I don't think he minds though. This is Fluffy and she's the coolest auntie there is. Her little girl, Monkey? I dig that one. Hopefully she and I can be the best of friends. It's my uncle, Pedro Juan. Everyone says I'm a mellow baby and that he was the same way when he was but a baby. That's cool with me. I love my Peej. Hopefully I'll have photos of me with my cousins and siblings tomorrow. And Uncle Kota? Mama is trying to find the picture of us together. She's not all that fast on the uptake. Cut her some slack though k? If she gets her poop in...

Shower Fun

Fluffy and I. Have I ever mentioned she's the best sister in law evah? Tis true. Me with Cousins M and A (who was due after me and had her baby this past week) The Monkey and Auntie K All the girls and let me tell you the struggles with this one. This is shot #7 of 9. We've got The Dictator, Monkey, Baby Girl, Cousins T and B. And finally, the husband came to me one day and asking just what the heck was going on on the stairs. I asked him just what the heck was he talking about. Well, clearly a Care Bear needed some help.

The Monkey Was Cheeky

She wants to share her cookie with Great Grandma - awww Well, maybe not. What's this? It's four generations of absolute sweetness, that's what it is. All of the other ones, where the Monkey is actually looking at the camera, have either Fluffy, Grandma or my MIL looking at the baby or blinking. Bah.

Throw Them All Together And This Is What You Get

Telling a silly story to auntie Hello people??? Watching the boy intently playing his game The Lloyd look is gone now. Let us all thank Baby Jesus.

Where Are All The Sat Morn Cartoons???

So here I am, on a Saturday morning. At 7am. I've been up since 6. The children are both sleeping with no signs of waking up soon. I could sleep in if I wanted. There's nothing going on today that requires my getting up now. So why the hell am I awake? I have a couple ideas. I had a dream that Tommy Lee wanted to sleep with me. Where sleep with me = ravage me from head to toe and make me start smoking again. Rawr! Back in the day, when I was infatuated with naughty, dirty boys, I would have woken up from that saying "What the hell? Please Lord let me fall back into that dream!" These days? :::shiver::: No thank you Tommy, your boy has been in far too many ports of pleasure for me. Ish. He also asked me who I wanted to sleep with more than anyone else in this whole entire world (because he needs to know these things I guess) and before I could answer him, he said Kate Winslet was his dream lay. Um, ok then. Carry on Tommy Boy, carry on. I don't recall having this ...

I'll Change My Mind Approximately 43 Times Before The Day Comes

Today I had an OB visit, all is going well. She asked if I had any concerns and immediately three came to mind: Pain - I don't like it and I'm certain if it knew me outside of the delivery room, it would not be friends with me. I can count on that, I'm sure. I can't have an epidural because I have two herrington steel rods in my back. With Monkey Boy, I had a PCA (patient controlled analgesic) that sorta did the trick. It took the edge off but it was still brutal. With Peanut, I had fentanyl and that sucked the big one when it came to taking pain away. I bow down before any woman who has gone drug free during labor and delivery. It's not me. As much as I would love to not use anything, I know my limits and I know what I can handle on my own. A bowling ball coming out what used to be a lima bean sized hole? That, I cannot handle without some sort of painkiller. The doc said she would have one of the anesthesiologists come and talk to me long before I have the baby so...

I Need To Be In The Audience For John Edward To Help Me Out

What the hell? Seriously. Was I a wretched horrible person in a previous life? I must have done something bad cause this, this juju that I have today? It's bad. Let's recap....We spent 4 1/2 hours in the ER today with our son having an abscessed area in his little bitty mouth drained. Something that could have been done the day before but noooooooo, it wasn't. Then, upon arriving back at my sister in law's place where our 3 yr old was, said 3 yr old tells me she has croup. She's knows what it is, she's had it 3 times in the last 18 months and informed that she indeed was afflicted with it. I told her she was crazy, she didn't have croup and I was not taking her to the ER, I had seen enough of it not even an hour before. On a side note here, we went to the ER at 3pm so we hadn't eaten the dinner yet. Fluffy made a couple plates for us for when we got back. Oh yeah, we got back at almost 8pm. The food was delicious though, outstanding job on your first b...

Family Movie Night Review

Every Wednesday*, we have Family Movie Night at Casa de la Crazy. My husband, the boy, the girl, the baby girl and my mother in law and myself all settle in to watch a movie. Tonight we had Fluffy and the baby join us. We have popcorn, soda (ooh! pop after 7pm - shame shame - wtf) and even candy. The kids totally get into the idea of movie night and get so excited. They almost lost their minds when I told them on Monday what we would be watching. As an aside, yes I told them on Monday because then I can use it as a bribing bargaining tool. We were going to watch Wall-E ::cover your ears please:: The excitement!! The screeches!!! The YAYS!!! I LOVE WALL-E!!! Can we watch it now? Now?? NOW?!?!?! PLEASE? I LOVE WALL-E! He's so cute! ::ahem:: Right then, so..... I would like to say the movie was a hit with my kids but I wouldn't know if that was the truth or not. My children fell asleep during the movie. The boy was out about 30 minutes in. The girl was distracted by her dollies...

I'm Useless Today

Yesterday must have really worn me out. I can barely keep my eyes open today. I got two phone calls from the boy's school today. The first was from the principal letting me know that she had to call the police liaison officers into her office today to have a chat with my son. My almost 6 year old son. He was being very aggressive in class and ended up screaming at the teachers that he hated them and school was stupid. If it was anything like I've experienced, it was ugly. He wasn't intimidated by the officer at all. That makes me scared for a few years from now. The other call was from his case manager and she filled me in on some other events that have taken place. I just don't get the school sometimes. They want to keep us informed and hello? that's what we want too. However, I'm always getting notices for school events a week or two after the fact. His folder never comes home when it's supposed to. Sometimes I wonder if he even belongs there. We have a co...

It's Been A Long Day And I Can't Type

The girls being so damn cute and the Monkers getting in on the "action" Fluffy working her magic on the kids. This is the same boy who, pretooth loss, wanted nothing to do with the Monkers. My how times have changed in the last week.

Just Plum Cute (Get It? Plum?)

Daddy's girl for sure Getting some love from her Mama

Either He Didn't Believe Me Or He Just Didn't Care

I'm gonna go with the "He just didn't care" answer. We went to my BIL Pedro Juan's house last night for a weenie roast. My sister in law's husband, Kota, was there and now, you shall meet him. This is a "normal" look and really, saying that's normal is a stretch. It's usually the following looks that are "normal" for him. Love ya Kota!! Poor Fluffy. She says she looks like his older daughter, not his wife. Please note that Chunky Monkey, for once, is not looking at the camera. And believe me, I tried to get her attention. She did. not. care. The blank look on his face. Some promise. I see some. I have some others that I shall post to the world tomorrow.

Happy Mother's Day

Fluffy and I had a great time today doing the Walk For The Cure at the MOA. It went a lot faster without pushing a stroller and concentrating on not running people over. It also didn't take us 90 minutes to find the car like last year. Whew. It's always so inspirational to see so many people in one place for the same reason. 50,000 men, women and children walked with us today. No lie. That's what they tell us. Panic attack much? It is overwhelming if you look at the shear number of people in front of you and don't even think about looking behind you. Yikes! Many tears were shed for people we didn't know. Just seeing shirts on kids that said they miss Grandma or grown women walking for their moms who lost their battle. I got choked up when I saw a man with his shirt that said he was "Walking in honor of my wife, my love, my life". Come on! How could you not love that man? It was a great day. It was even better when I got my Chunky Monkey fix. I hung out wit...

A Hat Trick, The Trifecta Of Posts, Triple Play, Yadda Yadda Yadda

Happy Early Mother's Day to all the moms out there. Represent! This Mother's Day, Fluffy and I will once again be walking in the Susan G. Komen For The Cure walk at the MOA . We had a great time last year and we're so excited to be doing it again. We're leaving the kids at home and it'll be just us. I almost feel bad for the Captain and Bigs but I think they'll be ok. We did the "Bagging For The Cure" at my store last Sunday and pulled in $833.39 from the fabulous customers we have (and some employees too!). So many times people thanked us for doing the walk. Some of them couldn't do it because of health reasons, others are survivors and most of the people we talked to had lost someone close to them. I always feel so blessed when someone shares their story with me. I feel connected to them. Thank you to all of my customers and coworkers who helped us out. Everyone knows someone. Someone who has survived. Someone who is fighting against it. Someone...
