See How Well That Worked Out?

Yeah that whole NaBloPoMo thing just wasn't in the books for me. I realized it when I woke up last night (one of the dozen times) and realized I was late. Bummer. Eh, I'll keep trucking along though. It'll do me some good to get back into writing (or what barely passes as writing for me). So you've seen Magic Mike yes? I rented it the other day and um, wow. Not the wow you would think I'd be saying as a red blooded woman. Some thoughts, if you will indulge me. I can't possibly be the only one that giggled through a good portion of the dance scenes. The hip thrusts in beat to the machine gun sounds? I thought I was going to pee myself. Not the result they were looking for, I'm sure.  Alex Pettyfer ? Sweet fancy Moses. I had a highly inappropriate dream involving Mr. Pettyfer a couple nights before renting this movie. I had no idea I would be watching the movie a couple days after the dream but I tell you, that dream sure spurred the motivation to get i...

7/17/10

Thanks BK for making my kid want to see this. I know, I know, I have the power to NOT get him a kid's meal from your eating establishment but dudes? He doesn't even know he's supposed to be Team Jacob!!He was Sharkboy for Pete's sake. Damn you for causing long drawn out two hour discussions* on vampires BK. Damn you. She didn't feel like discussing vampires, the ones from Twilight or True Blood**. She was all about those Benjamins Washingtons that were piling up. There was also a Hammerhead Linkton amongst the Washingtons. *you think I'm exaggerating on the two hours. Oh you sweet, sweet people. **Let's just say that there have been some serious discussions as to which vampire show/movie/family rules supreme.

This Is What I Get For Not Being Able To Sleep And Being Emotional.

I can't sleep, who knows why. So....I just got done watching My Sister's Keeper. I'm pretty sure I have the book around here somewhere. I haven't read it yet (I would think that was obvious from the I think I have it part but I digress). I have a question (or 4) for you guys: Did you see the movie? Did you read the book? Which one did you like more? The book or movie ending? I already know what happens at the end of the book. Since I haven't read the book in it's entirety , I don't feel qualified to give a complete, prim and proper opine regarding this. I am going to look around today and if I don't have it, I shall go get it. I'm sure Target will have it. Bahahaha! They have everything a girl like me needs desires lusts for wants.

Parents In Disguise

That's what I felt like when we went to see Transformers tonight. The place was packed, I didn't mind that. Looking around though? Ha! I think there were maybe a handful of people older than us there. At the last minute, these two teenagers sat next to us. Again, not a problem except holy debbie downer. They poo poo'd every trailer that came on. Airbender (looks good), 2012 (looks really good mainly because it has Bossy's boyfrien d in it), Harry Potter , GI Joe and G-Force (I think I'll take the girls to that one). Those were just the ones I want to see. There were a few other trailers but nothing that peaked my interest. I just wanted to tell the kids to shush. I'm getting old right? Dammit, I thought so. The movie? So good. So very good. A lot of laugh out loud moments that I wasn't expecting. Plenty of quotable quotes. I'll post some of those tomorrow. Stopped at BW3 for a couple beers and dropped off some wings for Mandyland at work. She was h...

I Love School, It Doesn't Love Me

So did you figure out the questions from yesterday? Did your eyes glaze over? Mine did. I thought it would go better after a full nights' sleep but yeah, no. In looking at my scores, I thought I did ok but um, I don't know now. I just googled ACT score and it wasn't pretty. If I tried to get into a decent school with a 20 on my ACT, I think they would laugh at me. And my SAT? Bwahahahaha. 354 Verbal and 409 Math. Thank goodness I didn't go into debt by going to school right away. At least now, when the baby that's baking goes to school, I stand a shot at getting a degree that I can actually use. Has that happened to you? You miss the school work but not the drama of school? Is it just me? I find myself really into the books you were forced to read in school. Beowulf (before the CGI Angelina movie came out thank you very much), The Great Gatsby (though the Robert Redford one is my fave movie version). I've found that the book is usually better than the movie. I t...

Family Movie Night Review

Every Wednesday*, we have Family Movie Night at Casa de la Crazy. My husband, the boy, the girl, the baby girl and my mother in law and myself all settle in to watch a movie. Tonight we had Fluffy and the baby join us. We have popcorn, soda (ooh! pop after 7pm - shame shame - wtf) and even candy. The kids totally get into the idea of movie night and get so excited. They almost lost their minds when I told them on Monday what we would be watching. As an aside, yes I told them on Monday because then I can use it as a bribing bargaining tool. We were going to watch Wall-E ::cover your ears please:: The excitement!! The screeches!!! The YAYS!!! I LOVE WALL-E!!! Can we watch it now? Now?? NOW?!?!?! PLEASE? I LOVE WALL-E! He's so cute! ::ahem:: Right then, so..... I would like to say the movie was a hit with my kids but I wouldn't know if that was the truth or not. My children fell asleep during the movie. The boy was out about 30 minutes in. The girl was distracted by her dollies...

So......

The Captain and I had a date last night. A double date with my sister in law and her husband. Oh. My. God. I had waaaaay too much fun. I haven't laughed that hard or that much in so long. It's amazing what visuals of certain people nekkid can do to a person mentally. It was fab. We went to see an amazing movie . I didn't think I was going to like it. Thought it would be a cheap ripoff or lesser quality storyline wise than other movies. I was pleasantly surprised. The Captain was not surprised that the teenage boys behind us would not shut. the. hell. up. There's a scene near the beginning of the movie that is, how shall I say, really not one that boys who should be so lucky to ever have a woman want to do those things to him should be watching. They giggled every time a boob showed up. Hot chick ? Nipplegate ? Did they need a moment to figure out why they had "those" feelings? Did they need a cleanup? I just didn't want to sit in front of them. I don...

A Shootout In More Ways Than One

So the Captain finally got to see a shootout in person and boy was he happy. Even more so because they won. His sister and her husband were at the game too a couple sections over and the kids were happy to see them. I know they were happy to see them because they were tired of seeing us the whole night. We missed the first period due to traffic and parking nightmares. Peanut had no desire to sit for more than 12 seconds at a time. Monkey Boy decided he was going to freeze people as they were coming up the concrete steps to get more booze and food. Try explaining to an almost 4 year old that the Excel Center does not charge for stair usage (though with all the taxes and whatnot on the tickets, they could very well do that). Mike and Ike's were running amok, a $4 Coke was decorating the floor nicely and the poms were excellent floor sweeping utensils to rid out aisle of those unsightly peanuts. At least they amused everyone in our section. We got quite a few "Oh you guys a...

Behold....The Power Of Spongebob

and the first one to try it out was Peanut. She's going to be potty trained before Monkey Boy you watch. Though in his defense he does stay on task when he's in underwear all day. I got lazy for awhile there and did Pull Ups but those bad boys are sucking the money right out of me. Plus the boy would stand there, look at me, stand there some more then say, "Oh, I just peed in my Pull Up Mommy." Yeah, no more of those during the day. Mommy: Good job Peanut! You peed in the potty chair!! Monkey Boy: It's not a potty chair Mommy, it's a TOIL...ET. I guess I was put in my place. I was also informed that it's not the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz (that we have watched ad nauseum the last two days). No, it's the Ravioli guy . What do I know? Not much if you ask my son. And it gets worse when they are teenagers? I remember me as a teen. Oh god. I'm in trouble. Something has gone horribly awry with the left side of my back. I can't hold my head straigh...

Mr. Moviephone Must Die

I just wanted to know how much the ticket would be for the two year old. That's all. I already know when the movie will be showing, where the theatre is located and other such things that I really don't give a rat's patootey about. How much are ya gonna milk me for the toddler who probably won't see 1/2 of the flick? I didn't find out til we got to the place.* My son has been raving about Flushed Away ever since the previews started showing on the tv. He has never been to the movies because hi, Mommy has enough stress going on all day everyday and to toss in the movies with the two kidlets is like tossing her in with the lions ala Gladiator . (If Joaquin was there though, I would be ok). Let me tell you right now: I don't know who those children were and what they did with mine but they can come see us anytime. These kids sat down and were quiet, quiet! , in the theatre for 9/10 of the movie. At the end they both wanted to see it again. We had one stinky diape...

Say What?

One of the more entertaining stories in the news today. I think I needed a cigarette after we watched this . It's gonna be a long winter. Ed Bradley , Jack Palance and Gerald Levert have all died this week. There's the trifecta of bad news. No more please. Unless it's FedEx . No, I kid, I don't wish his death. Permanent loss of voice? Sure. I have tomorrow off and need ideas of what to do with the husband and kids. It's suppposed to be 37 degrees, very sunny and only slightly windy. We want to do something outside the house but not expensive. Ha! Long list of requirements I know. I'm gonna look around the good ol' web and see what she has for me. Any ideas, send them this way. There's a new show coming on the The National Geographic Channel that I am really wanting to see. I love elephants, esp elephant babies. I think being a mom makes me want to see this too. Isn't this the stuff we were forced to watch in high school and we hated it? I find my...

Who Knew?

That theatres now have headrests on the seats? Wow. I was digging those! We (the husband and I) went out to the movies last night for our anniversary, which is today. He had to help his sister move tonight so we went a day early. We saw Superman Returns and it was great! I won't go into details since it just came out Tuesday but a couple favorite lines of mine were: Kitty Kowalski : "Didn't there used to be two of them?" Lex : "What did my father used to tell me?" Kitty: "You're losing your hair." Lex: " Before that." Kitty: "Get out?" I loved Kevin Spacey as Lex. I don't know that I like him when he plays a straight and narrow character. I loved The Usual Suspects .* Hey, I need to get that DVD, what the hell is wrong with me not owning that already? Sheesh. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings afterwards and had a bite to eat and a couple drinks. I kicked some peoples' asses in trivia . It was fun. I wish that we could ...

I Can't Wait

I know of no one who agrees with me that Jason Mewes is hot. This is a bad example and this is definately NOT hot. That's ok though. I remember the good, forget the bad. I make no excuses for my taste*. For fans of Clerks , Chasing Amy , Dogma , Jay and Silent Bob , etc , check it out: P.S. I've been working 'til 11 or midnight most nights so I'm pooped. I'll blog more. I promise. Was I missed though? * Or lack thereof to some people
