I Am Speechless

This video is disturbing to say the least . I wish it were a gross you out but make you laugh video. It's not. It may gross you out, and it should, but there's certainly no laughing. I'm also in tears. I don't care that the video is years old. I don't care what the motivations are for releasing this video. I don't care what the circumstances are. The fact is very clear. This man beat this child. His beat her with his belt. You can't call it spanking. He even says in the video that he will beat her. The mother? No better. Having lost someone so close to me from child abuse, I don't care what any of the alleged adults in that video have to say. They should........I don't know. It hurts to watch this and I sincerely hope that everyone gets help in this situation. I wish I could be more eloquent about this but I'm just hearbroken, disappointed in the "adults" and too saddened to form anything better than what ya got.

I miss this kid.  Don't get me wrong. I love my son.  I love him so fiercely that it startles me sometimes. But I miss this kid.  Before a label was put on him. Before we had the evaluation. Before our lives were changed by that label. Sometimes I want to go back. Sometimes I want to quit. Sometimes I think this is too much. Most days I suck it up. That's what moms are supposed to do right? I can do that. I can suck it up.  I can be the mom that my kids need. That they deserve. That they want. I just need fewer sucky days.  Change is coming my friends. I see the end of the tunnel. We're on our way to happiness.  We're going to be just fine.  So Aspergers? Don't think you've got me beat. Don't think you can take that sweet boy from me. Don't think his calling me a "f*!king bitch"  regularly is going to break me. Don't think I won't kick your ass Aspergers.  You don't know who you're dealing with.

So hey. How was your holiday? Mine was good. Did I cover that already? Probably. My apologies. My brain seems to still be on vacation. Be right back........ Nope, didn't really cover the holidays. Whew. So....... My parents came in to town, per the uzh. (How does one abbreviate usual? hmph) This year they stayed at a more mainstream hotel instead of the small town type one they usually stay at. Of course this means they also had a pool. And? and?? AND? a *so very, very, very* hot sauna. The end. Just kidding. But no really, hot sauna. Very nice. This was also when we discovered a certain toddler of ours loves the sauna. and the pool. and any body of water near her. I don't think we've ever seen her scoot backwards so quickly towards anything. It was a sight for sure. I've often wondered, how far do we go with the celebrating of Christmas? Meaning, how much do we spoil the children? They really do get what they want (within reason, most of the time). They ...

Late Start My Ass

So. My niece is here through Sunday and we are so stinking happy to have her here. I surprised the kids last night with her arrival. They never knew she was coming and they were thrilled to learn how long she'd be with us. The girls were up late last night because, duh!, BFFs are in the house! The boy had a late start at school today due to staff meetings. I was thinking "Sweet, the girls will be out until at least 830 and maybe the boy will sleep until 8" Stupid stupid stupid. Mommy Basics 101: The child(ren) will always rise before the sun on non school days. Same child(ren) will argue with you on school mornings until you stab yourself in the nose with a pickle fork because they don't want to get up. I know this gets worse as they get older. Please, let me be naive right now. Thank you (said in my best sing songy Mary Poppins voice) The boy was up before 7am I'm sure. I could hear his "heh heh heh" tic in full force and that usually takes a...

We like to jack our kids up right before big events they are in like, oh I don't know......A WEDDING on Saturday. I'm shaking my head here. I think we're cursed. Bad mojo?? She was sitting in a lawn chair at the county fair and nosedived right onto the ski/runner(?) of a vintage snowmobile. That right there is a lyric straight out of a country song. Go ahead. Just send me some royalties k?

How's Your Day Going?

No really, I want to know. Especially if you don't have children. Children that are driving you to the brink of insanity and then pulling you back to normalcy with the cuteness and apologies. If you're one of those people, please, do tell how awesomely fantastic your day has been. Mine? I've discovered the following: * I bought diapers for the 1yr old the other night. Size 2. She wears 4. * I clean like a motha when I'm pissed. I'd say the living room looks mighty damn organized right now. * Kids don't like a yeller for a Mama. * Mamas don't like being yellers to their kids. * Mamas feel like the biggest load of shit when they ream their kids a new one. * A horse fly just flew into the side of my head and damn, it kinda hurt. * Good news, my rotator cuff isn't torn like the asshats from 13yrs ago told me. * We still don't know what the hell is wrong with my shoulder though. * Loving a 7 yr old w/ Aspergers has got to be one of the hardest e...

We're Talking THIS Big

The theme for this month at NaBloPoMo is Big. I realize that today is April Fool's Day and I couldn't give two shits about that. Staying true to this month's theme: Yesterday? One large, overflowing, pungent, BIG piece of shit. No exaggeration people. BIG PIECE OF SHIT day. Wanna know why? Of course you do! How could you not with that enticing intro right? Here's how yesterday made it to that glorious state: I got approximately 2 hours of sleep. Not in any consecutive form either. There's a teething baby. All sorts of awesome there. The boy got on the bus just fine. I was feeding the girls breakfast (my two girls and my 2 year old niece ). The school called. You can see where this is going yes? My seven year old boy was suspended. Again. For the third time. This time it's for three days. There goes the week. Worse? It's his last week at this school. He'll be starting his new school next week. I'll post more on that later. I went to his school, had a...
