Um, No Thanks, I Think I'll Pass

This makes me so anxious in a bad way just looking at the drawings and illustrations. I've been in the top of the Arch and I've seen the Tower up close and I've even been to the 30th ish floor of the Sears. This thing? No way. Not gonna happen. Look at how high up you are compared to those others! God, my legs get weak just thinking about walking out there. And the floor is glass! GLASS! Not enough torture being that high up but to see below? Oh I just shivered and got nauseous. You see how I said I saw the Eiffel Tower up close and went to the 30ish floor of the Sears Tower. Yeah that's how terrified I am of heights. I couldn't even get past the 40th floor elevator in the Sears Tower. An elevator. I did go to the top of the Hancock building once when Donna was visiting and she was flying out of O'Hare*. We thought we were in the Sears. Some guy pointed out to us at the top that "the huge building over there is the one you're looking for". Nice. My panic attack was wasted on the Hancock. Gah.

Once, the Captain and I went to the MOA to meet some friends for drinks. We parked in the garage (I once parked in the White Sox section, useless info, carry on) and went in on the floor level. Well of course the bars are open later than the mall so we had to walk down 4 flights of stairs to get to the car. Four. And I had been drinking a rather nice flow of beer. Needless to say it took about a half hour to get downstairs.

Went to see U2 in concert a couple years ago at the Bradley Center. I believe we were in section 409 and ten rows from the top. I cried the first 1/2 hour we were there and never once got up until it was time to leave.

I love roller coasters though and had a season pass for 6 years to this joint. I'm a conundrum.

* I think there was booze involved in me getting up there. I'm certain of it.

They have something like that at House on the Rock-I almost peed myself. I was messed up for days.

I both love and am afraid (I wouldn't say 'terrified', I guess) of heights, roller coasters, and planes.

It's such a weird dichotomy, but it sort of really sums me up anyway, ya know? ;-)

Thank you for the comment the other day. It's taken me this long to get around to everyone! ;-)

mine comes with anything with an edge. If we're enclosed, like a building I'm good. But if it's a railing...no way. i can't even do escalators.

Nice To Meet You

Hi. I just got here last week. They call me the Littlest Little. I'm glad to be here and I'm sure I'll be seein' ya around. This my mama. She's always telling me that she loves me and is so blessed to have me in her life. Sometimes she cries. Wait, that's all the time. Someone should get her a tissue or two or a box. This is my daddy. See my pinky here? He's wrapped around it already. I don't think he minds though. This is Fluffy and she's the coolest auntie there is. Her little girl, Monkey? I dig that one. Hopefully she and I can be the best of friends. It's my uncle, Pedro Juan. Everyone says I'm a mellow baby and that he was the same way when he was but a baby. That's cool with me. I love my Peej. Hopefully I'll have photos of me with my cousins and siblings tomorrow. And Uncle Kota? Mama is trying to find the picture of us together. She's not all that fast on the uptake. Cut her some slack though k? If she gets her poop in...

Customer Appreciation Day

Dear Crotchety Broad, While I love my job and think it's the easiest one in the world to have, I do not think dealing with your ass was easy. Here are some highlights from my fabulous time with you: When your cashier is ringing up your precious produce, putting the codes in (from memory thank you very much), don't start trash talking her. I didn't hear you ask if I needed help because, well, um, I was busy ringing your shit up. When I look up because I heard something , don't look at me and say, " HELLO??" all sarcastic and shit. I will squish your tomatos, avocados and bread. When I ask if you have coupons, that's generally a sign that I am not a mind reader, can't see in your purse and can't predict the future (contrary to what you may think dear customer). As a refresher, here's our coversation: Loverly Cashier: Did you have any coupons today ma'am? (and that ma'am part may or may not have been choked out of my throat) Crotchety Broa...
