So Far So Good

So I have serious issues with Mother Nature when she decides to dump 18 inches of snow on my lawn just hours before I'm to leave on my much anticipated trip to LaCrosse. Damn the woman and her PMS type tendancies. The plan, before Murphy came along and conspired with Ms. Nature, was to leave Friday morning and spend 2 1/2 glorious days with Georgia and Zach, see some friends and family and more importantly, get my new tats. Yeah, snow kind of kills that idea. Especially when it takes more than 30 minutes just to brush the snow off the car, nevermind the digging out, the uphill stop sign and the car not wanting to do anything but dance to this.

I've been living in the midwest for 20 of my almost 34 years. (I must pause and cringe that I just put in writing that I'll be 34 this year. Makes it all the more real for me. Gah!) I spent 7 years off the lakefront in Chicago, brutal winters in the 80's. Winter trips to no man's land in Iowa. Yikes. 12 in Wisonsin. Did you know that I moved to Madison, WI from Tucson, AZ in the middle of a blizzard? True story. Walked off the plane in a sweater, shorts and Birks. Minnesota has been my home for a year and to be honest, I was starting to dig it. We had a mild winter and I was hoping that would be the trend. Maybe this global warming thing isn't so bad. Then these two got together and done screwed it all up.

All is good though. We're leaving in a few minutes to head down there. The highways are open, no snow is forecasted. Sven said it'll be in the 30's tomorrow. Mama like. I could very well post from there. I prolly will because I have my customer that I have to warn the world about. Les, don't fall off the edge of your seat hon. It's coming.

You make it very difficult to remain a non-smoker. That's all I have to say.

Customer Appreciation Day

Dear Crotchety Broad, While I love my job and think it's the easiest one in the world to have, I do not think dealing with your ass was easy. Here are some highlights from my fabulous time with you: When your cashier is ringing up your precious produce, putting the codes in (from memory thank you very much), don't start trash talking her. I didn't hear you ask if I needed help because, well, um, I was busy ringing your shit up. When I look up because I heard something , don't look at me and say, " HELLO??" all sarcastic and shit. I will squish your tomatos, avocados and bread. When I ask if you have coupons, that's generally a sign that I am not a mind reader, can't see in your purse and can't predict the future (contrary to what you may think dear customer). As a refresher, here's our coversation: Loverly Cashier: Did you have any coupons today ma'am? (and that ma'am part may or may not have been choked out of my throat) Crotchety Broa...

She Was Heartbroken

After reading about Kim and Reggie breaking up, the Monkey had a moment of silence to reflect on the love that is no longer there. And then she ate part of the page. Fiber! She needs fiber ya know! She wasn't as into the Saved By The Bell article like her favorite Auntie was (ahem) but she did kiss Zack Morris. No lie. Puckered right on up and layed one on him. He hasn't been the same since.

I Can't Wait

I know of no one who agrees with me that Jason Mewes is hot. This is a bad example and this is definately NOT hot. That's ok though. I remember the good, forget the bad. I make no excuses for my taste*. For fans of Clerks , Chasing Amy , Dogma , Jay and Silent Bob , etc , check it out: P.S. I've been working 'til 11 or midnight most nights so I'm pooped. I'll blog more. I promise. Was I missed though? * Or lack thereof to some people
