One Of Those Moms

I've turned into one of them. One of those moms that spouted off saying her kid was never going to play video games until he was at least 11 or 12. I mean XBox or the PS. Oh how I regret those words. This kid would play the Wii or Gameboy all day if I let him. I think that's the key though. We don't let him. The time that he spends on the games is limited (as best we can with an ODD kid) and he only plays kid friendly ones. He knows that T games are a no no and that he can only play E games. He isn't even tempted to try the T games. It's one of the blessings that come with Aspergers. He picks up on certain rules and will follow them to the letter and call YOU out if you break said rule.

The thing is though, I don't feel too bad about him playing the games. It keeps him occupied and more importantly, it keeps him quiet. Yeah, yeah, sounds like it's a babysitter. That's not how we see it. He's learning patience, practice, hand-eye coordination, sharing, etc. He's happier, he doesn't fight with us as much as he did before. Don't get me wrong, there are still meltdowns of epic proportions every day but on the whole, he's ok when he has his game.

I would like to think that I won't speak so foolishly again but ha! That would be a miracle no?

Customer Appreciation Day

Dear Crotchety Broad, While I love my job and think it's the easiest one in the world to have, I do not think dealing with your ass was easy. Here are some highlights from my fabulous time with you: When your cashier is ringing up your precious produce, putting the codes in (from memory thank you very much), don't start trash talking her. I didn't hear you ask if I needed help because, well, um, I was busy ringing your shit up. When I look up because I heard something , don't look at me and say, " HELLO??" all sarcastic and shit. I will squish your tomatos, avocados and bread. When I ask if you have coupons, that's generally a sign that I am not a mind reader, can't see in your purse and can't predict the future (contrary to what you may think dear customer). As a refresher, here's our coversation: Loverly Cashier: Did you have any coupons today ma'am? (and that ma'am part may or may not have been choked out of my throat) Crotchety Broa...

She Was Heartbroken

After reading about Kim and Reggie breaking up, the Monkey had a moment of silence to reflect on the love that is no longer there. And then she ate part of the page. Fiber! She needs fiber ya know! She wasn't as into the Saved By The Bell article like her favorite Auntie was (ahem) but she did kiss Zack Morris. No lie. Puckered right on up and layed one on him. He hasn't been the same since.

I Can't Wait

I know of no one who agrees with me that Jason Mewes is hot. This is a bad example and this is definately NOT hot. That's ok though. I remember the good, forget the bad. I make no excuses for my taste*. For fans of Clerks , Chasing Amy , Dogma , Jay and Silent Bob , etc , check it out: P.S. I've been working 'til 11 or midnight most nights so I'm pooped. I'll blog more. I promise. Was I missed though? * Or lack thereof to some people
