GMail Hate Me, Part 2

THE BOY'S WISHLIST

Dear Dad,

Long time no talk eh? Without further ado (because Lord knows I could ado all the way up to the day before Christmas!) here's the boy's list.

Item #1 -
It's the newest of the Ben 10 watches. It has to be the F/X one. He has the other two. If you can't find it or you find it a little pricey, please feel free to skip it. We can have him use part of his piggy bank money to get it. Walmart and Target don't have this particular one. Amazon has it but it starts at $44 I think. Again, it's up to you. I will say that this is the one thing he has been talking about for the last month. You know for him to talk about something for that long is phenomenal. Moving along......

Item #2 - Ben 10 Season 2 on DVD
He is really into Ben 10 again. He has season one and has requested season two. Both stores have it. $13.86 at  Wally,  $16.19 at Target and Target also has season three. Just saying.

Item #3 -  Ben 10 Alien Swarm - the movie
He saw this at least two times when it was on tv. He absolutely loved it. He really liked that it was live action and wants to know what is real and what is hollywood.  Wally - $13.86 Target - $15.19

Item #4 - Ben 10 Vilgax Attacks for the Nintendo Wii.

We can live without this one so I'm not even going to give the price points on it. I don't want to be a mean mama but he hardly plays the Wii and just wants it to have it. I'm putting it on his wish list though because I told him I would.

Item #5 and perhaps the only thing he wants as much as Item #1. Behold:
The New Super Mario Bros. for the Wii.

He is so excited about the four of us being able to play it at the same time and I have to say, it does sound like a lot of fun. Wally has it listed for $49.96  and Target has it listed for $49.99

As you can see, we have a Ben 10 addict in the house. At least Ben 10 can protect all the Barbies that the other one loves to have strewn about. I really hope this helps you out Dad and Mom. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me.

Love you and sending hugs!
The Kid

This Has To Be Said

I haven't blogged in 8 months. We bought a house, still unpacking, school started. You know, life. I felt the need, the urgent need to blog about the Adrian Peterson situation today. I am full of all sorts of feelings and had to write about it. I would love to hear your thoughts on this whole thing. No really, I would. I don't feel I was a douchebag in my writing so all I ask is you not be a douchebag in your response. Thanks.

My thoughts on the Adrian Peterson situation (but first, some backstory):
I was spanked as a child. I'm pretty sure most of us that grew up in the 80s were.Until the summer between 5th and 6th grade I lived in Charelston, SC and from 6th to 11th grade, North Chicaco, IL. I have seen every form of discipline doled out on a child. I've seen spankings, beatings, hairbrushes smacked into heads, spoons hitting the tops of heads, whips, belts and even switches. I've seen it all. Most of you know that my son is named after a little boy who died from c…

One Of These Things Is Not Like The Other

When was the first time that you realized that your home was not like other people’s homes?

My house has always been different from other houses. I don't think I could narrow it down to a particular time. I recall not having friends stay over. Ever. I always stayed at all my friends' houses and called their moms "Mom".

Not a lot of my friends were only children so to them, I was the odd duck. Believe me, I *was* the odd duck. Just for a myriad of other reasons.

Having a family of my own, I really see the differences in houses. We are more relaxed with some things that would not fly in other houses. It gets loud in our house. Extremely loud. If I stopped them from being loud all the time, I wouldn't get a single thing done. I tend to jump in right away when the kids are arguing because it can, and will, quickly snowball into WWIII and someone (or both) will be crying. We let our son play the Wii, computer or DS for far longer than other parents or even the "…

DOODLEBOPS UNMASKED - ALL THREE

Please do not ask me to email photos out, I get entirely too many requests for them. These are the ones that I have at home, thanks to a couple of sources.
